Jerry Slavonia is an entrepreneur inspired by the challenge of making major life events easier to deal with via the web. With two decades of experience either building or launching successful business ventures, he has established a reputation for finding ways to innovate in spaces where others often don’t see room for change.

His latest venture, Nestigator, is Slavonia’s take on improving the typically taxing process of finding a new home by creating an online community where home searchers can connect and share pertinent data, in real time, with a real estate agent, a family member, friends and or a roommate. And why? Because most people don’t search for a new home alone.

The notion of simplifying how people search for major purchase decisions online isn’t new for Slavonia. He was Founder and CEO of CampusExplorer.com, a search engine created to help college bound students find the right school through a more informed process. Under his leadership, Campus Explorer became the seventh fastest-growing Internet company in the U.S. in 2013 by growing from $0 to over $30M in revenues. Campus Explorer has since helped over 40 million students make that big decision.

Previous to Campus Explorer, as VP of Business Development and Internet Marketing at Rent.com, he architected Rent’s distributed marketing network and oversaw the company's meteoric rise in visitor traffic in the extremely competitive ILS (Internet Listings Service) market, ultimately resulting in over 40 million annual visits. Rent was acquired by eBay for $433 million in 2005.

Slavonia’s creativeness also expands beyond the Internet business world. A self-taught musician with a passion for blues and world music, he played in different bands and produced several others growing up in the Bay Area ultimately founding independent music label Homegrown Records before moving to Los Angeles to launch his web career.

A graduate of San Francisco State University, he received his bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Communications Arts in 1990. Today, he lives and works in downtown Los Angeles, where he enjoys walking to his favorite restaurants and lounges while envisioning what his next ideal home will be like.
